Our Body Shop is where the cars start to take shape. In this two-storey production unit the pressed sheet metal parts from the Press Shop are assembled and welded into complete bodyshells. The Body Shop is NedCar’s most highly robotized production unit: about 99% of the work is automated.

Something like 3,500 spot welds are incorporated in each bodyshell. No less than 550 robots pick and place the various body parts at precisely the right time, ranging from floor pans, to side walls, doors, fenders and roof panels to tailgates and trunk lids, so that a recognizable car gradually takes shape.
